Texas Bar Foundation Elects Laura Whitley, Jason Jordan as Fellows

Haynes and Boone, LLP Counsel Laura Whitley and Associate Jason Jordan have been elected Fellows of the Texas Bar Foundation in 2019.

Fellows are chosen for their outstanding professional achievements and their demonstrated commitment to the improvement of the justice system throughout Texas. Each year, one-third of 1 percent of State Bar of Texas members are invited to become Fellows. Once nominees are selected, they must be elected by the Texas Bar Foundation Board of Trustees.

The Texas Bar Foundation is the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the U.S. Founded in 1965, the organization uses contributions from its members to build a strong justice system for all Texans and has distributed more than $18 million to help nonprofit groups with a range of justice-related programs and services.

Whitley serves as counsel to financial institutions and borrowers in an array of sophisticated finance transactions. She offers clients knowledgeable advice and is dedicated to helping clients met their business needs and goals. During her career, Whitley has represented agents, lenders and borrowers in syndicated credit transactions involving revolving credit facilities, term loans, letters of credit, multi-currency facilities, cross-border financings, and acquisition financings. She has also provided legal services to clients in a variety of industries in connection with secured credit facilities, secured and unsecured working capital lines of credit, and other commercial loans.

Jordan has experience representing clients in all stages of complex litigation. He has prepared winning trial and appellate briefs on a variety of topics ranging from breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and tort claims to claims for trademark infringement. He has helped represent clients from a number of industries, including the energy, financial, and transportation sectors. Jordan has co-written articles on post-trial motions and pre- and post-judgment interest that have been featured in the State Bar of Texas Litigation Section Journal and CLE courses focused on appellate practice.
