Entravision v. Salinas, 487 S.W.3d 276 (Tex. App.'Corpus Christi 2015, pet. denied)

Plainitffs, father and son, sued media defendants for defamation for an allegedly defamatory Facebook post discussing rumors of the father’s detention at the border. On behalf of the media defendants, we filed an Anti-SLAPP Motion in the trial court requesting dismissal of the claims brought by the son. After the Anti-SLAPP motion was denied by operation of law, the media defandants filed an interlocutory appeal. The appellate court reversed the trial court's denial, finding the statements were not defamatory as to the son and ordered remand for dismissal and award of attorneys’ fees pursuant to the Anti-SLAPP statute.
