The Dallas Morning News recently featured Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner James Waters in a powerful front-page article capturing the challenges that even the most successful African Americans continue to face in this country.
The profile discusses the many accomplishments of James and his wife, Frances Cudjoe Waters, both Harvard Law-trained professionals who excel in their fields and share a deep commitment to their faith, their community and to raising their sons as model citizens. Still, their success has not insulated them from having to navigate countless incidents of implicit and explicit racial bias.
The article movingly reminds us that while race relations have progressed in our country, we still often remain a nation divided.
