Managing IP named Haynes and Boone, LLP among the leading law firms in America across multiple categories and also shortlisted Partner David McCombs as one of the nation’s leading practitioners.
Haynes Boone is one of a handful of Firm of the Year nominees in the categories of Trademark Prosecution (National) and Trademark Disputes (South), while McCombs is up for Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) Practitioner of the Year.
The awards cover more than 50 jurisdictions worldwide. Researchers obtain information from thousands of firms, IP practitioners and their clients through interviews, email and online surveys. They evaluate data supplied by firms and publicly available information, such as court and IP office records.
This is the second consecutive year David has been nominated. He recently served as IP counsel to Brand Engagement Network Inc. in its business combination with special-purpose acquisition company DHC Acquisition Corp., resulting in the combined company being traded on Nasdaq. He is also annually named to the WIPR Leaders Directory.
The nominated Trademark and Advertising Practice Group protects and enforces its clients’ marks, which include some of the world’s most famous brands. The group is particularly distinguished by its experience in high-impact matters, such as international clearance and enforcement of marks, global trademark prosecution and protection programs, oppositions and cancellations, advertising review, trademark and unfair competition litigation and domain-name disputes.
Winners will be named at the annual Managing IP Awards ceremony in New York City on April 25.
