Haynes and Boone, LLP Associate Colin Giuseppe Cox has been re-elected to the Miami-Dade Bar Association Board of Directors and as co-chair of its International Law Committee.
Colin is a member of the firm’s International Practice Group, and he is licensed to practice in both Florida and Texas. He is also the secretary and treasurer of the Business Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.
“I had an amazing first year working alongside the incredibly talented lawyers at the Miami-Dade Bar, including outgoing president Roger Slade and incoming president Suzette Russomanno—who will also be the Bar’s first Cuban-American woman to serve in that role,” Colin said. “I am honored to have been re-elected to the board and excited to continue to serve the Miami legal community as it continues to flourish and develop as one of the country’s most dynamic international legal markets.”
Colin’s practice focuses on international corporate matters and cross-border projects, including cross-border investments, financing, project development, and negotiations. He regularly helps clients in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, private equity, and capital market transactions, and he has particular expertise with projects involving Latin America and Europe. Colin has lived and worked extensively in both regions and speaks French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish.
Additionally, Colin represents clients before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) and helps them assess whether CFIUS has jurisdiction over their transactions.
Colin’s practice covers a large range of industries, and he has extensive legal and business experience in the real estate, banking, capital markets, energy, aviation, hospitality and CBD/hemp sectors.
He also serves as a member of the council and vice chair of the International Law Section of the Dallas Bar Association, a councilmember of the International Law Section of the State Bar of Texas, and a member of the National Italian American Bar Association.
