Insurance Recovery Partner Micah Skidmore Earns Board Certification in Texas

January 23, 2024

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Micah Skidmore has achieved designation from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, making him Board Certified in the inaugural year for the insurance specialty.

With more than 90,000 attorneys currently licensed to practice law in Texas, only about 7,200 have earned the right to be publicly recognized as Board Certified specialists in one of 22 select areas of law. Of those 7,200 lawyers, only 52 practice insurance law.

“It is a true honor to achieve Board Certification in the first year of the insurance specialty,” Micah said. “This recognition underscores my commitment to excellence in representing policyholders in diverse insurance disputes, and I look forward to continuing to serve my clients with dedication.”

Micah represents policyholders in significant insurance coverage disputes involving a variety of claims from commercial general liability, directors and officers liability, employment practices liability, and errors and omissions liability to first-party property claims, trade credit, and crime and fidelity claims.

To be Board Certified, lawyers must practice law full-time for at least five years as an active member of the State Bar of Texas and procure qualified vetted references from lawyers in the area, among numerous other requirements. Consumers and organizations get the highest quality of legal services when working with Board Certified lawyers and paralegals.
