Hedge Fund Journal has named Haynes Boone Global Investment Management Practice Group Chair Vicki Odette as one of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds in 2025.
The report, published in association with Ernst and Young, highlights “notable examples of women making significant contributions to the hedge fund industry” and works to illuminate their stories to inspire more women to enter the industry.
The report noted Odette’s experience and prowess, saying:
“Vicki’s client base spans hedge funds, private equity, venture capital and private debt managers. She is particularly engaged in the evolving private credit space, where she finds the complexities of open-ended and hybrid structures particularly interesting. Vicki’s innovative approach has led to the creation of the first hybrid hedge/private equity insurance-dedicated fund in the U.S., catering specifically for high-net-worth investors. She is at the forefront of emerging trends, advising on GP stake sales, continuation fund transactions and the seeding and acceleration of emerging managers. In addition to representing fund sponsors, Vicki counsels a wide range of investors, including family offices, high-net worth individuals and sovereign wealth funds in the Middle East, where she is learning standard Arabic to deepen client engagement.”
“Vicki’s recognition as one of the 50 Leading Women in Hedge Funds is a testament to her visionary leadership and deep expertise in the investment management space,” said Haynes Boone Business Transactions Department Chair Susan Wetzel. “Her innovative work and commitment to client service continue to set a high standard across the industry, and we’re proud to see her contributions honored in this way.”
Last year, Odette received the 2024 Rainmakers Award from the Minority Corporate Counsel Association which honors attorneys who have achieved success through innovative, consistent and proactive business development.
Odette joined Haynes Boone in 1997 and has played a pivotal role in the firm’s modern success, serving as a partner, executive committee member and global chair of the Investment Management Practice Group. She has built and led an international team of more than 75 lawyers, advising top-tier clients on structuring investment funds and navigating complex arrangements in various sectors of the financial industry.
