Grant Gibson
Biography
Grant Gibson is a skilled litigator with experience handling intellectual property litigation and complex commercial disputes. Grant applies an analytical and forward-thinking approach to litigation to protect and advance clients’ interests and to assist clients with navigating issues that arise during litigation.
Grant has represented clients in trial and appellate courts across the country, including in the Eastern and Northern Districts of Texas, the Southern District of New York, the Northern District of California, the International Trade Commission, and the Federal Circuit. Grant also has represented clients in all phases of litigation. Grant has taken the pen on pre-suit communications, prepared pleadings, assisted with all phases of fact and expert discovery, deposed fact witnesses, drafted briefing for procedural and dispositive motions, participated as an integral member of teams preparing for evidentiary hearings and trials, and represented clients on appeal.
Grant has worked on patent infringement actions involving diverse subject matter, including display technologies, smartphone operating system functionalities, smartphone applications, chemical formulations of energy-drink ingredients, facial recognition in video surveillance systems, and device software updates. Grant has substantial experience with display technologies and has been deeply involved in patent infringement actions involving LED backlighting technology and OLED display technologies.
Following law school, Grant served as a law clerk to the Honorable James Wesley Hendrix of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Grant continues to be involved with the Northern District of Texas Bar and currently serves as a member of the Host Committee for the Northern District of Texas Bench Bar Conference.

- Assisted with securing a final judgment of patent invalidity for a multinational electronics manufacturing company in an action in the Eastern District of Texas involving a patent related to image processing technologies. This representation was handled by Grant prior to joining Haynes Boone.
