In a new report released by Juristat, Haynes and Boone, LLP is listed among the nation’s top-performing patent prosecution firms.

Juristat is a computer software company that uses data to analyze the performance of firms and improve the patent prosecution process. The company recognized Haynes and Boone among the nation’s leaders in patent prosecutions involving four of the eight technology centers at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Each center reviews patent applications for discrete technology sectors.

Haynes and Boone ranked:

• As the 15th top-performing firm in Tech Center 2400, which provides examination for patent applications involving computer networks, multiplex, cable and cryptography/security; 
• 14th in Tech Center 2600, which examines patent applications involving communications;
• 3rd in Tech Center 2800, which examines applications involving the semiconductors, electrical and optical systems and components;
• 22nd in Tech Center 3600, which examines patent applications involving transportation, electronic commerce, construction, agriculture, licensing and review.

For the report, Juristat looks at volume and performance in three categories – number of applications filed, allowance rate, and average number of office actions before allowance – over a 12-month period. The metrics are based on public applications disposed or filed between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2017. Qualified firms filed at least 100 applications in a tech center during the selected time period.
