Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Bill Nash has been named a 2016 Outstanding Lawyer by the San Antonio Business Journal.
The awards are given to lawyers considered to be among the best and brightest in the profession, and have demonstrated excellence in the field, leadership in their organizations and commitment to their community.
At the firm, Nash is a partner in the Intellectual Property Litigation Practice in the firm's San Antonio and Dallas offices. After graduating from the US Naval Academy with an engineering degree, he served in the US Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer. Nash is a registered patent attorney with more than 28 years of extensive national and international experience in intellectual property litigation and counseling.
Nash is valued for his unique ability to understand clients’ business and litigation objectives while protecting their complex intellectual capital. He is often called upon in critical company litigation for his "big picture" insight. He works closely with his clients in planning immediate strategies while keenly looking several moves ahead into the future.
Nash has handled major patent infringement, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, unfair competition, and trade secret cases in jurisdictions from California to Massachusetts, including the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) in Washington, D.C., in addition to those filed in the four federal districts within Texas, for both US based and foreign based companies. As an intellectual property advisor and expert, he has broad experience with infringement and validity opinions, and he regularly helps clients develop strategies to avoid or minimize litigation risks. Nash works closely with his clients to protect, develop, commercialize, and license a company's intellectual property assets, both in the U.S. and internationally.
