Rafael Anchia is Named a Finalist for D CEO Magazine Award

Haynes and Boone, LLP Of Counsel Rafael Anchia is one of a select group of Dallas-area leaders who have been named finalists for the 2017 Latino Business Awards, which recognizes outstanding Latino leaders in North Texas. D CEO magazine and the Asociación de Empresarios Mexicanos, an organization that helps Mexican entrepreneurs achieve success in the U.S., jointly sponsor the award program.

Anchia is one of 24 finalists for the 2017 award.

A seven-term Texas House member representing parts of Dallas, Farmers Branch and Irving, Rep. Anchia serves as Chair of the International Trade and Intergovernmental Affairs Committee which maintains jurisdiction over international trade and investment in Texas, the world’s 10th largest economy and the U.S.’ top exporter. A forceful advocate for NAFTA and the bilateral relationship with Mexico, Texas’ foremost trading partner, Rep. Anchia served President Barack Obama as an appointee to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiations which counsels the White House and U.S. Trade Representative on trade and investment agreements.

Rep. Anchia has received numerous accolades for his work in business and public service. In 2014, the Dallas Bar Association gave Rep. Anchia it’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Justice Award, and the following year, the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association awarded him the “La Luz” Award, the organization’s highest honor.

Rep. Anchia represents financial institutions and public and private funds in a variety of transactions involving senior and subordinated debt and equity, domestic and international syndications and distressed debt acquisitions and sales. He also maintains an active public finance practice.
