OSHA UPDATE 2013 - Fort Worth

June 11, 2013

The Deputy Assistant Secretary for OSHA, Jordan Barab, recently addressed the American Bar Association?s OSHA Sub Committee during its March 5-8, 2013 annual meeting. He opened his comments by remarking that there is a ?long way to go? when it comes to improving workplace safety. His remarks addressed several areas of interest for employers. Haynes and Boone?s OSHA lawyers will discuss what is expected from the agency in 2013/2014. Our presenters, as members of the Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee of the American Bar Association, will share breaking news from the annual Committee meeting as heard from the critical players who comprise OSHA's various branches of compliance and enforcement.

Attendees learned what was discussed over the three day Committee meeting regarding such topics as: 2012 enforcement data, the Solicitor of Labor?s litigation goals, the regulatory agenda, the practical impact of significant OSHRC and court decisions, OSHA emphasis areas for compliance and enforcement, and many other topics.
