Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Lauren Brogdon appeared on WFAA to discuss Xcel Energy claiming that its equipment could be to blame for two wildfires in the Texas Panhandle, including the Smokehouse Creek Fire.
"I think we could see criminal charges," Brogdon explained. "As you know, two people have been reported dead as a result of these wildfires and the scope of this is so much bigger than any of the other fires that we've seen in Hawaii or in California or in Colorado, so I think we're going to see a significant number of lawsuits given the scope of this fire."
