September 26, 2022

Haynes Boone Partner Jayun Koo was featured in an Law360 article. Below is an excerpt:

Despite a significant drop in the volume of initial public offerings this year, capital market lawyers at several BigLaw firms are still looking to train aspiring young attorneys to bolster their practice, saying there is plenty of work in the pipeline.

There had been "a steady stream" of smaller offerings this year, according to Jayun Koo, a New York-based partner at Haynes and Boone, LLP. She noted that most of those deals were so-called micro-cap IPOs, which generally apply to companies with market capitalizations of $50 million to $300 million.

According to research firm Renaissance Capital, 34 micro-cap offerings have been completed in 2022, representing 64% of all IPOs. And for young attorneys looking to hone their skills in the space, the micro-cap IPOs are a good place to start, Koo said.
