From Elijah McCoy and Mary Jackson to Dr. Charles Drew and Dr. Marian Croak, Black scientists have transformed transportation systems, launched us into space, discovered new disease treatments, and influenced the way we use the Internet today. Yet, historically, the achievements and contributions of Black inventors in science and technology are often forgotten or unrecognized, and therefore, racial disparities persist in the design and social impact of scientific and technological advances. In honor of Juneteenth, please join us for a conversation with in-house intellectual property and product counsel from Google Health, Lenovo and Toyota on the role of race in science and technology today and how the legal community can make these important areas more equitable through innovative diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
