Alan Herda Shortlisted for LMG Life Sciences Americas Award

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Alan Herda, chair of the firm's IP Department, has been shortlisted for the annual LMG Life Sciences Awards Americas 2022 in the Patent Strategy Attorney of the Year - South category.

Published by Euromoney Institutional Investor, LMG Life Sciences ranks the leading law firms and individuals in the life sciences industry. The awards program, now in its 10th year, highlights practitioners and teams across the U.S. and Canada in categories covering regulatory, corporate, intellectual property, and litigation. The winners will be announced during an awards event on Sept. 8 in New York City.

Alan builds domestic and foreign patent portfolios for clients. He prepares and prosecutes U.S. and foreign utility patent applications covering a wide range of technologies. Alan conducts patentability, freedom-to-operate, validity, and infringement investigations, and prepares related opinion letters. He also supports IP litigation, including patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation cases, by conducting due diligence and infringement, validity, and claim construction analyses. Alan has successfully prosecuted patent reexaminations during concurrent patent infringement litigation.

In addition to utility patents, Alan’s practice includes a focus on design law. He has obtained design patents and registrations worldwide covering a variety of consumer products, industrial components, and computer-implemented designs.
