Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Brian Vella has been appointed by Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin to a four-year term to serve as a member of the Virginia Nuclear Energy Consortium Authority (VNECA).
VNECA was established to make Virginia a national and global leader in nuclear energy. The Authority serves the Commonwealth of Virginia, institutions of higher education, nuclear energy companies, suppliers, and local organizations that support the advancement of the nuclear industry.
“I am honored to be appointed by Governor Youngkin to serve on the Authority,” Brian said. “This is an exciting opportunity to actively contribute to the mission of making our home state of Virginia a national and global leader in nuclear energy.”
Brian is a member of the Nuclear Power Group at Haynes Boone, which represents hydroelectric plants, nuclear contractors, nuclear fuel financing facilities, nuclear facility training facilities, banks, and energy companies. The firm’s Nuclear Power team has a unique blend of attorney backgrounds, including over 100 registered patent attorneys, 10 with PhDs in physics, a masters in nuclear engineering, a nuclear energy technical consultant and a DOE certified Naval Nuclear Engineer.
