Haynes Boone Lawyers Recognized in 2022 Colorado Super Lawyers and Rising Star Listing

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partners John Fognani and Patrick L. Hughes are included in the 2022 edition of the Colorado Super Lawyers legal directory published by Thomson Reuters. Counsel Ian Rainey was listed as a 2022 Rising Star.

 

John is an environmental lawyer, Pat is a restructuring lawyer, and Ian is an intellectual property (IP) lawyer in the firm’s Denver office. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Of those nominated, only 5% of the total lawyers in the state are selected for inclusion.

John Fognani

 

John has practiced as a natural resources and environmental attorney with broad experience in natural resources, environmental and real property law, including permitting, counseling and compliance issues, and numerous complex transactions and litigated matters involving a broad spectrum of natural resources and environmental issues. His practice emphasizes resource project development, public lands issues, surface rights, access and use, project finance and compliance with federal, state and local environmental laws and requirements pertaining primarily to mining, oil and gas and manufacturing. Prior to joining Haynes Boone, John was the original founding partner of Fognani & Faught, PLLC. This is his 16th year to be recognized in Colorado Super Lawyers.

 

Patrick L. Hughes

Pat has represented countless business debtors, secured creditors, asset purchasers, court appointed committees and significant creditors in numerous restructuring cases throughout the country. He also has had an active business litigation practice and counseled boards and management teams on a variety of transactional and litigation matters that arise out of restructuring situations, including the purchase and sale of assets and litigation arising in these situations. Pat’s practice has involved key roles in some of the largest business bankruptcy cases filed. He is credited with a number of reported court decisions in many other noteworthy cases of regional and national significance. This is his third year to be recognized in Colorado Super Lawyers.

 

Ian Rainey

Ian is a Counsel in the IP Practice Group in Haynes Boone’s Denver Office. His practice includes litigating a variety of IP matters in federal and appellate courts across the country. Ian also counsels clients in all aspects of IP law, including patent prosecution, trademark, trade secret and copyright law, and related licensing. Prior to joining Haynes Boone, Ian was a partner in the IP group at another large national firm. Before that, he clerked for The Honorable John Daniel Dailey on the Colorado Court of Appeals where he assisted in drafting over 50 published and unpublished opinions. This is Ian’s fourth year as a Rising Star.
