Press Release

Corporate Partner Paul Tobin Joins Haynes Boone in Orange County

January 08, 2024

Haynes and Boone, LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Corporate Partner Paul Tobin to the firm’s growing Orange County office. Paul joins from Buchalter, where he spent the past three years in the Corporate Practice Group.

Paul represents companies of all sizes, from those in the earliest stages of development to large global entities. He provides advice through the entire company life cycle, from initial organization and corporate governance, to capital raising, the development of contracts to meet company needs, and through to later stage extraordinary transactions such as joint ventures, partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions with the client as both the buyer and the seller.

"I am incredibly excited to be joining the firm, as it will help me continue to develop my practice, especially with the international presence of Haynes Boone,” Paul said. “This is a thrilling opportunity to help the firm grow in Southern California, both at the office and in the community."

Outside the office, Paul serves as the chair of the Board of Directors of Orangewood Foundation, which provides services such as fulfilling basic needs, housing assistance, life skill development, employment support and education support to current and former foster youth in the Orange County area. He has volunteered at Orangewood Foundation for eight years and is the founder of The Orangewood Challenge, an annual event that has raised millions of dollars to support Orangewood's programs.

Orangewood also built and operates the Samueli Academy, a local charter high school that sends 97% of its graduates on to further study. While living and working in Australia, Paul volunteered with The Smith Family, a national charity that helps young Australians to overcome educational inequality caused by poverty. He remains a Smith Family governing member.

Paul is the third partner to join Haynes Boone’s growing Orange County office since September, joining litigators Elizabeth Weldon and Kevin Crisp, further enhancing the firm’s footprint in Southern California.
