Haynes Boone New York Office Managing Partner Craig Unterberg has been elected to a three-year term on American Jewish Committee (AJC) Executive Council, where he has taken on the role of chair of leadership development.
The AJC is a leading global Jewish advocacy organization, dedicated to confronting antisemitism and advancing human rights and democratic values in the United States and around the world. The leadership development chair at AJC is responsible for working with AJC’s leadership development staff to establish the programs and training for AJC’s lay leaders.
“It has been an honor to join the executive council and to work with the leadership development team at AJC, on its leadership development efforts,” Unterberg said. “I look forward to contributing to the organization's mission and fostering the next generation of leaders committed to advocacy and human rights.”
Unterberg’s work with AJC dates back 25 years, including serving as past president of the New York region and serving on the Board of Governors and as the chair of AJC national fellowship program.
Unterberg leads the Haynes Boone Margin Lending and Structured Equity Practice Group and is widely recognized as a market leader in margin stock, NAV facilities and structured equity transactions. Earlier this year, he filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court in Miriam Fuld, et al. v. Palestine Liberation Organization, et al., supporting the rights of American victims of terrorism to seek justice under the Promoting Security and Justice for Victims of Terrorism Act. He was also a finalist for Office Managing Partner of the Year at the 2025 New York Legal Awards, presented by Law.com.
Under Unterberg’s leadership, the Haynes Boone New York office has grown by leaps and bounds, including adding 12 new partners so far in 2025 and leading the effort in constructing the firm’s new office space within 30 Rockefeller Plaza.
