Haynes Boone has launched a new Arbitration Rules Comparison Tool, giving businesses, legal professionals and arbitrators a quick and simple way to compare arbitration rules used in leading jurisdictions worldwide.
This innovative resource streamlines rule selection, a pivotal step in cross-border dispute resolution. The firm's new Arbitration Rules Comparison Tool provides instant, side-by-side analysis of 14 major arbitration rules from across North America, Europe and Asia. Recent statistics show that these rules were selected for thousands of arbitrations that were commenced in 2024.
Developed by Haynes Boone’s arbitration leaders, Partner Odean Volker and Counsel Fiona Cain, the tool addresses key aspects of institutional and ad hoc arbitration, providing clarity for parties involved in global transactions.
"In international arbitration, time is often money,” Cain said. “This comparison tool is designed to cut through the research clutter, making critical decisions faster and clearer."
"We wanted to create something more than just a database,” Volker said. “This tool is about trying to demystify the process and enabling users to understand the future impact of the choices made during contract negotiation."
The tool is up to date and should reduce research time when drafting arbitration clauses for international contracts and allow business leaders to quickly identify procedural differences that may impact case timeline or costs in the future.
