Haynes Boone will sponsor the 2022 JD Advising Scholars Program as part of the firm’s ongoing efforts to promote diversity and inclusion in the legal industry. Through the program, which connects historically underrepresented first-year law students with 15 firms nationwide, Haynes Boone will subsidize academic resources and provide mentoring services to the students.
On Oct. 26, JD Advising, Inc., a legal education company organizing the Scholars Program, announced the class of 50 students selected for the 2022-2023 school year.
“We are honored to be part of the diversification of the legal profession, and we could not do so without sponsorship from so many law firms,” said JD Advising Founder and CEO Ashley Heidemann. “Their commitment to this program is the reason it was able to grow this year, and for many years to come. The student scholars show great promise, and we are excited to see what they go on to do in their legal careers.”
Those selected for the JD Advising Scholars Program receive:
- 10 hours of one-on-one tutoring before and throughout the first semester of law school
- Study aids, such as outlines, flashcards, short-answer questions, multiple-choice questions
- Access to firm panels and networking events
“Haynes Boone is excited to partner with JD Advising for its 2022 Scholars Program,” said Audrey Youngman, the firm’s manager of entry-level recruiting. “In our 2025 Plan, we committed to being a market leader in diversity, equity, and inclusion, and we feel the JD Advising Scholars Program is aligned with that goal. The 2022 JD Advising Scholars are an incredibly impressive group, and we are grateful for the opportunity to get to know each of them through this partnership.”
