Haynes Boone Partner Karen Denney Begins Term as Tarrant County Bar President

On July 19, Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Karen Denney was sworn in as president of the Tarrant County Bar Association (TCBA), which is comprised of more than 2,600 lawyers, judges, and law students in the Fort Worth area.

The organization’s members voted for Denney as president-elect in 2021, and she began serving as president in July 2022. Her term as president will run through June 30, 2023.

“I have spent my entire professional career in the Fort Worth area, and I have been mentored and supported by my fellow members of the Tarrant County Bar,” said Denney, the administrative partner of Haynes Boone’s Fort Worth office. “I am honored to help lead an organization that plays such an important role in this community.”

TCBA advances jurisprudence, facilitates the administration of justice, elevates standards of professional conduct, supports professional development, and promotes respect for the legal profession. It also supports the community by promoting free legal education, as well as various community services initiatives.

Denney is a partner in Haynes Boone’s Labor and Employment Practice Group and is board certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She is a member of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Tarrant County Bar Foundation. In 2012, she was named the Outstanding Young Lawyer of Texas by the Texas Young Lawyers Association. She also serves as a board member for Casa Mañana, Inc., and previously served as the organization’s board chair.
