Haynes Boone has a large Texas presence, with 400 attorneys across offices in Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio and the Woodlands, and continued its track record of healthy growth this past year with the addition of offices in Denver and Mexico City. …

Jeff Nichols, a partner and the co-chair of Haynes Boone's energy practice group, said part of the firm's success can be attributed to the addition last year of several Shearman & Sterling LLP M&A lawyers.

"We've been one of the most active law firms in the M&A space," he said. "A lot of these deals we're involved with are with private companies, but we've been leading the charge." …

Nichols said Haynes Boone's success stems from its commitment to specializing in a broad array of legal issues in Texas.
