Biography

Michelle Emeterio is an Orange County trademark and copyright lawyer and an associate in Haynes Boone’s Trademark and Advertising Practice Group. She helps clients protect, manage, commercialize and enforce intellectual property rights. Her practice spans trademark and copyright counseling, clearance, prosecution, portfolio management and licensing. Michelle assists with trademark and copyright applications, office-action responses, communications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and U.S. Copyright Office, watch-notice review, chain-of-title management and settlement agreements. She also has experience managing international intellectual property portfolios and handling corporate IP transactions, due diligence and related recordations.

Michelle’s intellectual property enforcement experience includes prosecuting and defending proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, cease-and-desist letters, Digital Millennium Copyright Act notices, online takedown requests, settlement negotiations, civil litigation and domain-name proceedings under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy.
