Dennis Gallagher

Dennis Gallagher is Counsel in the Intellectual Property Practice Group in the Orange County office of Haynes and Boone, LLP. His practice focuses on patent and technology transactions and counseling, including the acquisition, management and enforcement of intellectual property rights, M&A and commercial transactions, and cybersecurity and data privacy.

Prior to joining Haynes and Boone, Dennis spent more than 7 years at Conexant Systems, Inc., a fabless semiconductor company, where he served as the company’s General Counsel and Intellectual Property Counsel, managing all legal issues including M&A transactions and a Chapter 11 corporate restructuring, strategic management and monetization of the company’s 1200+ asset patent and trademark portfolio, litigation, review and negotiation of all commercial and business agreements, labor and employment, SEC compliance, and corporate governance matters.

Before joining Conexant, Dennis practiced as an IP attorney at major international law firms where he represented his clients in patent and trademark prosecution, patent and technology-related litigation, the development and implementation of intellectual property portfolio strategies, and technology transactions.

In the area of technology transactions, Dennis has handled a variety of matters including software license agreements, SaaS agreements, patent license agreements, technology development agreements, manufacturing agreements, distribution and sales agreements, endorsement agreements, and supply/purchase agreements. He has also worked on complex commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, debt financing, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.

His technical experience covers a wide range of electrical, mechanical and computer-related technologies including, but not limited to, wireless communications, software, artificial intelligence, audio and video processing, networking and cloud technologies, manned and unmanned vehicle systems, real-time sensor systems, consumer electronics, and semiconductors.
