Biography
Alejandro González is a partner in the International Practice Group at Haynes Boone’s Mexico City office who advises domestic and international clients on litigation, arbitration, labor and employment, and related business risk matters in Mexico. With more than two decades of experience, he represents clients in commercial, constitutional, labor, and cross-border disputes across a wide range of industries, including automotive, energy, aerospace, retail, technology, infrastructure, telecommunications, hospitality, insurance, healthcare, agriculture, professional services, and government.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution
Alejandro handles commercial and constitutional litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution involving real estate and infrastructure conflicts, shareholder and corporate governance disputes, breach and termination of commercial agreements, enforcement of credit instruments and collateral, damages claims, product liability, insurance coverage, force majeure, business interruption, insolvency, bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, and enforcement of U.S. judgments and international arbitration awards. He also brings a preventive litigation perspective to transactional and contractual analysis, helping clients assess legal risk, anticipate disputes, and structure business arrangements with contentious issues in mind.
Labor Compliance and Counseling
Alejandro advises on labor audits and risk assessments, corporate restructurings and M&A labor strategy, employment and contractor arrangements, workplace policies, union relations, collective bargaining, labor litigation, outsourcing and specialized services, remote work schemes, terminations, severance planning, employee settlements, employer substitutions, and compliance with social security and profit-sharing obligations. He also helps companies entering or expanding in Mexico plan, implement, and regularize their employment structures in light of evolving regulatory requirements and business objectives.

- Advised a global energy client in multifaceted administrative and commercial disputes with government and private-sector counterparts.
- Defended a prominent retail company in litigation involving consumer protection and regulatory compliance claims.
- Represented a global automotive manufacturer in defending against a significant tort liability lawsuit.
- Led high-value, complex litigation involving real estate development and property rights disputes.
- Represented multiple creditors in bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, including enforcement of secured claims.
- Represented a client in a commercial litigation and subsequent negotiated resolution against a major steel producer in Mexico.
- Acted for a major telecommunications provider in multiple civil and commercial lawsuits, including the execution of securities, guarantees, and credit instruments.
- Represented a telecommunications giant in various constitutional challenges against regulatory actions from both telecommunications and data protection authorities in Mexico.
- Represented a leading energy and petrochemical company in contractual disputes with gas station operators and fuel retailers, arising from the non-performance of supply agreements.
- Advised an agricultural company in multiple disputes against producers in Mexico over breaches of contract and performance failures.
Labor Compliance and Counseling
- Advised a global automotive company on the design and implementation of subcontracting structures aligned with Mexico’s updated labor regulations.
- Counseled numerous multinational clients on compliance with Mexico’s remote work legislation, including policy development and implementation.
- Represented a major food and beverage conglomerate in addressing post-merger labor issues, including negotiations of collective bargaining agreements with two labor unions.
- Supported various clients in launching operations in Mexico by delivering comprehensive labor compliance strategies, covering employment contracts, internal work rules, workplace policies, mixed labor committees, privacy protocols, compensation structures, profit sharing, expatriate management, remote work frameworks, and outsourcing arrangements.
- Advised a leading telecommunications company on conducting a full-scale assessment of its internal investigations and labor litigation practices to ensure legal compliance and operational efficiency.
