Biography

Adam Schmit is an associate in the Restructuring Practice Group at Haynes Boone's Houston office.

Adam focuses his practice on litigation and bankruptcy matters, with experience in trial preparation, motion drafting, and judicial procedure. Prior to joining Haynes Boone, Adam served as a law clerk for the Honorable Shad M. Robinson in the Unites States Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas. Prior to his clerkship, Adam worked at a law firm that represented corporate and individual landowners in eminent domain disputes, where he learned the nuances of land valuation and contested appraisals.

Adam’s interest in bankruptcy matters began in law school, and the American College of Bankruptcy recognized him as the 2024 Fifth Circuit Distinguished Bankruptcy Law Student for his academic work. He enjoys drawing on his experience to maximize client outcomes despite difficult circumstances.
