Latin Media Cover Chevron's First Mexico Gas Station

September 26, 2017

Haynes and Boone, LLP’s role in helping Chevron open its first branded service station in Mexico received coverage in Latin Lawyer and in LexLatin.

Chevron opened the station in Hermosillo in the Northwestern State of Sonora and plans other stations in the states of Sinaloa and Baja California. The company, through its subsidiary Chevron Combustibles de México, will partner with local companies to import, distribute and commercialize refined products for the Mexican retail market, Latin Lawyer reported.

Mexico's energy sector was completely reformed in December 2013, creating opportunities for refining, storage, transportation and trading companies to enter the market for the first time. Pemex, however, remains the largest importer, distributor and seller of fuels in Mexico, Latin Lawyer reported.

Haynes and Boone Partner Nicolas Borda led the team representing Chevron, with Associates Evert Sanchez Alonso and Carlos Alva in Mexico City also advising on the transaction.
