Government Contracts

Haynes Boone advises on government contract negotiations, bid protests, compliance support, internal and government investigations, administration, and all related disputes. We deliver high caliber, cost-effective legal solutions to a diverse clientele, including some of the largest government contractors in the U.S. and abroad, mid-size and smaller companies, and individuals.

Our team represents clients in complex disputes and litigation involving federal agencies and before federal boards of contract appeals, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the Government Accountability Office, federal district courts, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. We guide prime-subcontractors through disputes in federal and state courts, domestic and international arbitration, and in mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, as well as work with state and local agencies in administrative and state court proceedings.
We resolve matters before the Department of Justice (DOJ), the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Offices of the Inspector General (OIG), and other federal regulators. We defend civil and criminal matters in federal court, as well as conduct internal investigations and advise on remediation that does not involve enforcement or regulatory authorities, advantageously positioning our client should authorities become involved.

Our team has been recognized in Chambers USA, Who’s Who Legal, Super Lawyers, Best Lawyers of America, U.S. News & World Report, Washingtonian Magazine, and the Washington Business Journal. We have held significant leadership positions in bar and industry associations, and are involved in publishing the Guide to Mandatory Disclosures (ABA’s Section of Public Contract Law), Cost-Reimbursement Contracting (Fourth Edition), and Practicing Under the U.S. Anticorruption Laws (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act). Our lawyers are educators through The University of Virginia School of Law, The George Washington University Law School, Federal Publications Seminars, and the Public Contracting Institute and actively involved in industry associations including the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). We are also active speakers on state and local bar association panels, lecturing regularly on procurement and government contract law.
