Haynes Boone Chief Operating Officer Dave Boden sat down with Law360 to discuss the firm relocating eight of its 19 locations over the past two years, setting standards for the new spaces that prioritize efficiency and attorney wellness.
"The world has changed, technology has changed, the way people work has changed," Boden said. "We've taken the opportunities as these leases turn over to right size our footprint and try to future-proof the offices as best we can so we'll be ready to adapt to the next change technology brings to the industry."
Boden said the firm has plans for a couple more renovations as leases expire over the next year or two, "and then we're done for a while."
"We're not looking to build grand structures," Boden said. "We're just making sure we're finding the best locations and creating the best opportunities for our employees to come in and work."
"We prioritized the creation of LEED [Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design] Gold Certified spaces because we think it's important to do our part," Boden explained. "We've relied heavily on the architects and the contractors to guide us in making those decisions. We're also partnering with the landlords and building ownership to make sure we're doing as much as we can for the environment and being good stewards in that regard."
