Haynes and Boone Lawyers to Participate in Earth Day Legal Symposium

March 22, 2017

Haynes and Boone, LLP lawyers Jeff Civins, Diana Liebmann, Mary Mendoza, and Suzanne Murray will participate in a legal symposium to be held in connection with Earth Day Texas on April 20-21.

The Dallas event, “People, Planet, and Profit,” brings together leading legal scholars and subject matter experts from environmental organizations, business, academia, and the government, for what is expected to be a lively discussion of fundamental issues with broad ramifications for those affected by and interested in sustainability and environmental law.

Scott Pruitt, the new EPA administrator, will speak on the objectives and goals of the new administration, and General Wesley K. Clark (ret.) will discuss climate change as a major security concern.

Civins, who chairs the symposium, will give opening and closing remarks and Liebmann, chair of the firm’s Power and Renewable Energy Practice Group, will be one of the prominent speakers on the topic of reconciling energy and economic development with protection of public health and the environment. Mendoza and Murray will each co-moderate a session—Mendoza on sustainability and corporate ethics and Murray on facilitating environmental dispute resolution.
