Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Charles A. Beckham Jr. received the Robert B. Wilson Distinguished Service Award from the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Law Section for his dedication to the profession and to his field.
The award is named for Robert B. Wilson, the Bankruptcy Law Section’s first chair, and is presented “in deep gratitude for tireless efforts and unceasing dedication and service to the Bankruptcy Law Section of the State Bar of Texas.” The section has honored an outstanding lawyer or judge with the Wilson Award each year since 2008.
Beckham was recognized at the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Bench-Bar Conference in June.
Beckham has practiced oil and gas bankruptcy law for more than 35 years, representing numerous clients on bankruptcy and insolvency issues in various sectors of the energy industry and helping forge solutions to complicated business failures. Citing his involvement in high-profile energy-related bankruptcies, Texas Lawyer named him the “Go-To Lawyer” for bankruptcy in 2012 — a designation given once every five years.
Among his professional leadership roles, Beckham has chaired the Texas Bar’s Bankruptcy Law Section and served as a member of the State Bar’s board of directors.
