The American Lawyer named Haynes and Boone, LLP a finalist for 2021 Texas Regional Litigation Department of the Year.
The winner will be announced Dec. 2 at the American Lawyer Industry Awards in New York, celebrating what the publication deems “the most exceptional lawyers, law firms, legal departments and organizations in the country.”

Haynes Boone’s Litigation team has been deeply involved in helping clients with claims arising out of the pandemic – from securing voluntary dismissal of consumer class action claims against a leading Texas food retailer to handling insurance recovery matters. And when Storm Uri ripped through Texas causing widespread damage in 2021, several of the firm's litigators helped co-found a task force to respond to urgent questions from clients whose businesses were severely impacted by the storm.
The team has expanded this year, including by building a U.S. Supreme Court Practice headed by Denver-based Partner Dan Geyser, who joined the firm in August. Dan is widely regarded as one of the nation’s premier Supreme Court and appellate lawyers. He has argued 11 Supreme Court cases in private practice and is set to argue his 12th Supreme Court case in November; in the past half-decade, only four other non-government lawyers nationwide have argued as many times before the Court.
