Haynes Boone has expanded its Labor and Employment Practice Group with the addition of Partner Jason Elliott, an accomplished attorney with more than 20 years of experience advising employers on complex workplace and employment-related matters. He joins the firm’s Dallas office after more than 12 years at Perkins Coie, where he worked alongside recent Haynes Boone additions Ann Marie Painter and April Goff.
Elliott has helped employers navigate complex labor and employment matters, such as executive employment agreements and disputes, unfair competition litigation – including numerous temporary restraining order actions involving claims of breach of noncompete agreements, misappropriation of trade secrets and tortious interference – wage-and-hour class actions and employment discrimination claims. He has gained deep knowledge from representing clients across a broad range of industries, including finance, software and technology, retail, manufacturing, food and beverage, oil and gas, and defense and aerospace, among others.
In addition to his litigation and dispute resolution practice, Elliott provides tailored employment guidance to parties involved in M&A matters, particularly private equity transactions. He has served as a key employment law advisor on hundreds of business matters involving due diligence, valuation of identified compliance risks, negotiation of terms, workforce integration, reduction and employment transition programs, executive employment agreements and restrictive covenants, implementation of post-closing compliance initiatives and related compliance issues.
“Haynes Boone’s established Texas platform and national reputation create the ideal setting to continue growing my practice,” Elliott said. “I look forward to contributing to an award-winning practice group that delivers practical, business‑driven service and solutions to clients.”
In addition to his standard labor and employment work, Elliott has represented employer plan sponsors and fiduciaries in ERISA-related litigation, including alleged fiduciary breaches, claims for improper denial of benefits and issues arising under the Mental Health Parity and Addiction Equity Act.
“We are pleased to welcome Jason to the firm and to continue growing the firm’s Labor and Employment practice in Dallas,” said Labor and Employment Practice Group Chair Raquel Alvarenga. “The addition of Jason, along with Ann Marie and April, reflects the firm’s continued investment in Texas and enhances our ability to support clients on complex labor and employment matters.”
Haynes Boone has welcomed more than 25 lateral partners firmwide since the beginning of 2025, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in private credit, capital markets, M&A, energy, intellectual property, litigation and more. The additions reinforce the firm’s ongoing focus on building depth in core practices across the United States and internationally.
