Haynes Boone is pleased to welcome Insurance Recovery Partner Carrie DiCanio to the firm’s Denver and New York offices. DiCanio joins Haynes Boone from Anderson Kill, where she spent her entire legal career and most recently served as managing shareholder of the firm’s Denver office and a shareholder in its New York office.
With over 15 years of experience and licenses in Colorado and New York, DiCanio furthers the firm’s national insurance recovery practice. As a long-term resource and strategic partner for clients, she has helped recover hundreds of millions of dollars in coverage and regularly advises on a wide variety of policies, including representations and warranties, directors and officers, errors and omissions, commercial general liability, crime, property and cyber insurance.
DiCanio specializes in helping her policyholder clients mitigate financial and reputational risk at the early stages of crisis management. Her litigation experience includes disputes involving business valuation, commercial fraud, anti-competition, environmental liability, product liability and other sensitive and complex matters.

DiCanio’s arrival also enhances Haynes Boone’s ability to deliver comprehensive support on reps and warranties insurance matters, seamlessly complementing the firm’s strong corporate and international platform. DiCanio’s deep experience navigating complex insurance issues in the transactional space, DiCanio adds strategic depth to Haynes Boone, helping clients of the firm mitigate risk and manage claims from deal inception through resolution both in the United States and internationally.
DiCanio is the latest addition to Haynes Boone’s growing Denver office and marks the 13th partner to join the firm since the start of 2025. Her arrival will also add depth to the active mergers and acquisitions team led by Denver Office Managing Partner Dan Malone.

DiCanio will also spend significant time working out of the firm’s office in New York, where she has a deep client roster and has spent more than a decade of her career.
DiCanio is ranked Band 1 by Chambers, adding to the firm’s prestigious Insurance Recovery Practice Group that was recently ranked by Chambers as Band 1 in Texas for the 22nd consecutive year and Band 3 in Washington, D.C., with several of its partners also ranked by Chambers.
