October 13, 2026

Haynes Boone Associate Jordan Chavez has been selected to the American Bankruptcy Institute (ABI)’s 2026 Class of 40 Under 40.

Founded in 1982, ABI is the largest multi-disciplinary, nonpartisan organization dedicated to research and education on matters related to insolvency. The organization provides Congress and the public with unbiased analysis of bankruptcy issues and recognizes emerging leaders through its annual 40 Under 40 initiative, which honors 40 top industry professionals selected by a committee of experienced insolvency professionals.

“We are thrilled that Jordan was included among ABI’s 2026 class of 40 Under 40 honorees,” said Partner Kelli Norfleet, chair of the firm’s Restructuring Practice Group. “Jordan has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication in representing clients, and this recognition reflects her growing reputation as a talented lawyer and rising leader in the restructuring community.”

Following a judicial clerkship for the Honorable Ronald B. King, Chavez joined the firm in 2019 and represents debtors, secured creditors and unsecured creditors in a wide range of corporate restructurings across industries including cryptocurrency, restaurant, retail, energy, telecommunications, health care, logistics, construction and lodging. She primarily serves as counsel to Chapter 11 debtors and also advises creditors with in-court and out-of-court workouts, bankruptcy litigation and counterparty insolvency issues.

In addition to client work, Chavez is heavily involved in the restructuring community. Among other accolades and volunteer efforts, Chavez is known for her outstanding service and dedication to the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Law Section. She currently serves on the section’s council as chair-elect and will begin her term as chair in 2027.

Haynes Boone’s Restructuring Practice Group delivers solutions in high-stakes bankruptcies and distressed situations. The firm’s nationally recognized group handles complex out-of-court restructurings and Chapter 11 cases across industries including energy, technology, retail, healthcare and manufacturing.
