Haynes Boone Partner Peter Halprin has been elected as a Fellow of the American College of Coverage Counsel by its Board of Regents.
The College is comprised of over 400 lawyers who represent insurers and policyholders involved in coverage and extracontractual matters. Its mission is “to advance the creative, ethical and efficient adjudication of insurance coverage and extracontractual disputes; to enhance the civility and quality of the practice of insurance law; to provide peer-reviewed scholarship; and to improve the relationship between and among the members of our profession.”
The College provides fellows with a forum to exchange information and ideas regarding insurance coverage and extracontractual liability law, provides a collection of professional and scholarly published materials, and provides educational programs and resources.
“It is truly an honor to join this incredible collection of top coverage attorneys from around the country,” said Halprin. “I look forward to collaborating with, and learning from, colleagues from both sides of the aisle.”
Halprin is the fifth Haynes Boone attorney to be elected to the college, following in the footsteps of Barry Buchman, Ernest Martin, Micah Skidmore and David Taubenfeld.
Halprin is a partner in the Insurance Recovery Practice Group in Haynes Boone’s New York office. He is a Chambers USA-ranked attorney, described as having “a standout reputation for his expertise in policyholder representation,” with one source noting he “goes above and beyond for his clients and is a force for good in the industry.” Halprin is well known for his work with high-value claims concerning issues such as business interruption, cybersecurity and wrongful-death suits. His global client base spans diverse industries, including entertainment, financial services, government, healthcare, hospitality, professional services, private equity and real estate.
