Sakina Foster Honored with Outstanding Woman Lawyer Award from DWLA

June 29, 2026

Haynes Boone Dallas Office Managing Partner Sakina Foster has been named the recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Woman Lawyer Award by the Dallas Women Lawyers Association (DWLA), one of the organization’s highest honors. The award recognizes exceptional leadership, service and professional achievement in the North Texas legal community.

The Outstanding Woman Lawyer Award honors a woman attorney in private practice in the Dallas-Fort Worth area who has demonstrated excellence in the profession while making meaningful contributions through leadership and service.

Foster’s selection reflects a distinguished career defined by exceptional client service, firm leadership and a strong commitment to mentoring the next generation of lawyers. As managing partner of Haynes Boone’s Dallas office, she has played a key role in promoting a collaborative, high-performing culture while advancing initiatives that strengthen both the firm and the broader legal community.

"Sakina exemplifies the leadership, integrity and commitment to excellence that define Haynes Boone," said Taylor Wilson, firmwide managing partner of Haynes Boone. "She has earned the trust of clients, colleagues and the broader legal community through her collaborative approach, dedication to mentoring others and unwavering commitment to making our firm and profession stronger. We couldn't be prouder to see her receive this well-deserved recognition."

In addition to her leadership role, Foster is a partner in the firm’s Finance Practice Group, representing borrowers and financial institutions in complex commercial loan transactions, and leads the firm’s Commercial Contracts Practice Group. She also serves on the boards of the Texas Women’s Foundation and the AT&T Performing Arts Center, reflecting her deep commitment to community engagement and civic leadership throughout North Texas.

“DWLA has long been a powerful advocate for women in the legal profession, and I am honored to be recognized by an organization that does so much to advance and support women lawyers,” Foster said. “This recognition is deeply meaningful to me and reflects the support of my colleagues, the trust of my clients and the many mentors who have helped shape my career.”

The recognition follows Foster’s receipt of the Power Award at the 10th Annual Women’s Conference hosted by the U.S. India Chamber of Commerce DFW in March 2026, which honored her professional excellence as well as her dedication to mentorship, community engagement and empowering others.

Foster will be formally recognized at the DWLA’s 2026 Awards Gala, “An Evening of Distinction: Celebrating Our Impact and Influence,” on Oct. 3, 2026.
