Defended former landowner in lawsuit brought by subsequent purchaser alleging contamination

We represented a landowner that had leased property to a company that operated a laundromat. After our client sold the property, the purchaser allegedly discovered contamination from chemicals such as perchloroethylene (PERC) and trichloroethylene (TCE). The purchaser filed suit pursuant to the Solid Waste Disposal Act (SWDA). After conducting discovery and defending against the SWDA allegations and other claims, we utilized an indemnity provison to our client's advantage which eventually lead to the dismissal of the claims against our client.
