Haynes Boone is delighted to welcome Janice Davis as a partner in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group in Dallas. Davis joins from Morgan Lewis, where she previously served as the Dallas office managing partner and built a national practice representing clients in high-value deals, including many that required expedited timelines and sophisticated regulatory navigation.
Davis brings more than three decades of complex dealmaking experience, guiding private and public companies, family offices and private equity sponsors through M&A transactions across a wide range of industries. In addition to serving as a top advisor and counselor for clients on buy- and sell-side transactions, she counsels clients on corporate governance, joint ventures, restructuring and a myriad of other corporate transactions.
She is a finalist for D CEO’s 2025 Dealmaker of the Year, and her work for Elite Roofing Supply in its sale to Gulfside Supply is also nominated for D CEO’s Deal of the Year ($250M-999M). Both awards will be announced in May. Davis has been the recipient of many awards in the legal community, including Dallas Top 50 Women in Law by the Texas Diversity Council, Most Effective Dealmaker Award in the State of Texas, Best Lawyer in Dallas by D Magazine, and she has also been ranked by Chambers and Legal 500.
“Haynes Boone has an outstanding reputation for M&A and private equity transactions, and a strong brand here in Texas as well as on a national level. These are some of the many reasons I’m honored to join the firm,” Davis said. “With the strength of the firm’s M&A platform and its deep engagement with the local business community, this is an environment where I can deliver outstanding results for clients and be part of a dynamic team.”
This addition strengthens an already premier group, which was recently named The American Lawyer’s Best Corporate Practice (Midmarket) and was ranked among the top five firms in both Texas-Led and Texas-related M&A deals by The Texas Lawbook.
“Janice’s sophisticated experience, diverse practice and ability to manage fast-paced, high-stakes deals make her a tremendous addition to our team,” said Haynes Boone M&A Chair Tom Harris. “Her collaborative spirit and her proven ability to deliver great results to clients align perfectly with our longstanding practices and further strengthen our market-leading capabilities.”
Davis has advised on transactions in a broad array of sectors, including manufacturing, distribution, industrial, technology, healthcare, energy and consumer goods. Her practice also includes experience with the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and antitrust compliance, particularly in private equity transactions involving large-scale acquisitions.
She is the 12th partner to join the firm since the turn of the new year, notably following the additions of five capital markets partners in London and four finance partners in New York.
