Haynes and Boone, LLP Partners Raquel Alvarenga, Brandon McCoy, and Monika Sanford have been featured in D Magazine’s 2022 “Best Lawyers Under 40” directory. The listing recognizes outstanding young lawyers in the North Texas area.
D Magazine editors solicit nominations from more than 9,800 lawyers across North Texas by asking them which lawyers under age 40 they’d like to see ranked, keeping the following question in mind “Which local lawyers under age 40, of those you have witnessed firsthand, would you rank among the current best?” After submissions are tallied, a panel of esteemed lawyers work with the magazine’s editors to evaluate the nominees and determine winners.
Raquel Alvarenga, 1st year named | Labor & Employment
Alvarenga is a partner in the Labor and Employment practice group in Haynes Boone’s Dallas office. Alvarenga represents corporate clients in all manner of labor and employment matters, including advice and counseling, litigation, and internal investigations. A significant portion of her practice focuses on advising corporate clients, entrepreneurs, and private equity firms and their portfolio companies on workforce issues in connection with corporate transactions.
Brandon McCoy, 1st year named | Corporate Law: Mergers and Acquisitions
McCoy is a partner and chair of the Mergers and Acquisitions Practice Group in the Dallas office of Haynes and Boone. His practice focuses on complex business transactions for both private and public clients in a broad range of industries, with a focus on mergers, acquisitions, private equity investments, and joint ventures.
Monika Singh Sanford, 2nd year named (in total) | Banking & Finance
Sanford's practice is focused on the representation of financial institutions, alternative lenders and corporate borrowers in various secured and unsecured commercial loan transactions. Sanford represents lenders in the negotiation and documentation of credit facilities to commercial borrowers and private equity funds. In addition, she also represents corporate borrowers in a variety of transactions, including 144a notes offerings, financing corporation acquisitions, workout transactions, and obtaining working capital lines of credit.
