Haynes Boone is delighted to have acted for Chariot Ltd, an AIM-traded transitional energy company, on its fundraising by way of an oversubscribed equity placing, subscription and open offer. Completion of the fundraising coincides with the 30th anniversary of AIM.
The deal team was led by Corporate Partner Robert Bines-Black, who was assisted by Corporate Associate David McClellan and Trainee Solicitor Johanna Reimann.
This transaction is the seventh since a seven-attorney team joined Haynes Boone’s Capital Markets team in the London office in February. The new group has expanded Haynes Boone’s capital markets capabilities with decades of experience advising on high-profile deals for AIM-traded clients across various markets in the United Kingdom and globally.
Chariot is an Africa-focused transitional energy group with two core business streams: Renewable Power and Upstream Oil and Gas. Chariot’s Transitional Power is focused on providing competitive, sustainable and reliable energy through generating and trading renewable power in South Africa as well as progressing the development of its power-to-mining and water projects on the continent. Chariot's Upstream Oil and Gas pillar is focused on building out a full-value chain upstream growth business within Africa.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Chariot as the company develops its portfolio, as existing shareholders back the group through the oversubscribed open offer,” Bines-Black said. “Our team has seen capital markets activity pick up significantly since we joined Haynes Boone in February and expect this to continue as we head into the summer. We look forward to continuing to work with the Chariot team as they develop as an emerging player in the renewables market.”
