He’s advised clients on hundreds of deals totaling more than $25 billion across diverse industries. He is also ranked among the leading M&A and private equity lawyers in Chambers USA.

Haynes Boone won two other M&A Atlas Awards for large-scale transactions spanning multiple industries.

The firm received the award for Global Private Equity M&A Deal of the Year (Large Market) for its representation of Blucora, Inc. in the $720 million sale of the company’s tax software business, TaxAct, Inc. to an affiliate of Cinven, Ltd. a UK-based private equity fund.

Following the sale’s close, Blucora rebranded as Avantax, and last year, Haynes Boone guided Avantax, Inc. Haynes Boone was also awarded Deal of the Year – Metals which recognized the firm’s counsel of Commercial Metals Company (NYSE: CMC) through its acquisition of metal recycling company Roane Metals Group LLC. The deal significantly improved the supply of materials for Commercial Metals Company’s steelmaking operation.

Haynes Boone’s M&A Practice Group has comprehensive experience handling middle-market deals, having helped clients close more than 500 transactions in the last five years, with an aggregate value exceeding $50 billion.
