Press Release

Litigator Cristen Rose Joins Haynes Boone

April 06, 2022

Experienced litigator Cristen Rose has joined Haynes and Boone, LLP as a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office.

Cristen’s practice encompasses a variety of commercial and business litigation, including insurance recovery and environmental cases, and regulatory compliance. She has handled all forms of dispute resolution, including serving as lead counsel in arbitrations, mediations and trials.

“Cristen will enhance our environmental litigation capabilities, and her years of experience on regulatory matters at the EPA will be particularly valuable to our clients,” said Mary Mendoza, a partner in Haynes Boone’s Environmental Litigation Practice.

Cristen joins the firm from Paley Rothman, where she was a member of the Insurance Recovery and Regulatory Law & Litigation Practices. Her insurance litigation experience encompasses complex construction-related litigation, agricultural-related liability, heavy metals, climate change and coronavirus claims. Cristen also has represented many companies under investigation by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). She has devoted a significant portion of her practice to the regulation of pesticides and other chemical products under the Federal Insecticide Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).

While it can be hard for busy litigators to find time for hobbies, Cristen, it turns out, is skilled at balancing acts. In her spare time, she has been a longtime practitioner of the circus arts, including aerial hoop and flying trapeze.

Haynes Boone Partner Robert Shulman, who recently joined the firm from Paley Rothman where he worked closely with Cristen, said she not only is highly skilled but fits in well with the firm’s collaborative culture. “Cristen is a delight to work with and brings valuable first-chair experience. We’re fortunate to have her.”

Cristen said she was drawn to Haynes Boone for its practice breadth and geographic reach. “I am really excited to join the firm. It offers an incredible opportunity to grow my practice and serve a wider array of clients.”
