Haynes and Boone, LLP is pleased to welcome Real Estate Finance Partner Daniel Mallet to the firm’s Orange County office. Mallet joins the firm from Sheppard Mullin, where he worked for the last five years.
Mallet is the seventh partner to join the rapidly growing Orange County office since September, along with Jeff Morton, David Hengstler, Martin Florman, Paul Tobin, Elizabeth Weldon and Kevin Crisp.
His practice focuses primarily on secured and unsecured real estate finance transactions on behalf of clients such as national and regional banks, debt funds and private equity lenders. He has experience documenting highly structured and complex construction and term loan lending facilities, as well as workouts and restructurings.
Mallet is also the sixth addition to the Real Estate Practice Group this year, joining Mark Payne in London, George Hinchey in San Antonio, W. Stephen Wilson in San Francisco, Joe Sarcinella in New York City and Hengstler in Orange County.
"Haynes Boone has a tremendous and well-respected real estate finance practice, and this is a great opportunity to help the firm expand that practice in California and, more broadly, the West Coast,” Mallet said. “I am really excited to join the team at Haynes Boone and be a part of this effort."
Mallet’s experience includes a broad range of notable transactions, including the $338.4 million construction financing of a Boston life sciences facility, the $170 million A/B note construction financing of a Los Angeles luxury, multi-family complex, and the mezzanine financing of a shopping center portfolio in a $1.3 billion dollar capital stack.
“Bringing Dan to Haynes Boone will significantly help our real estate practice, especially as it pertains to the finance aspect of the field,” said Troy Christensen, co-chair of the Real Estate Practice Group. “His experience is exactly what we need as we continue to grow our practice and cement our footprint on the west coast.”
