Two Haynes Boone Transactions Win ACG Houston Deal of the Year Awards

Two of Haynes Boone’s transactions won awards at the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) Houston’s ninth annual Deal of the Year Awards.

The firm’s representation of DNOW Inc. in its acquisition of MRC Global Inc. won the 2025 Deal of the Year and Distribution Deal of the Year from ACG Houston. Haynes Boone’s deal team advising DNOW Inc. in the financing for the acquisition was led by Partner Brent Shultz with support from Counsel Ochuko Hope and Associates Grant ArmentorDarby Brooks and Tatum Trolinger

Additionally, the firm’s consultation in Page Southerland Page, Inc.’s acquisition of Stantec Inc. won Business Services Deal of the Year from ACG Houston. The Haynes Boone team representing Page Southerland Page, Inc. on the ESOP aspects of the deal was led by Partner Susan Wetzel, with Partner Scott Thompson supporting on ESOP matters and Partner Raquel Alvarenga advising on certain employment issues.

This is the second straight year that a Haynes Boone transaction has won an award at the annual ACG Houston Deal of the Year Awards, following the firm’s representation of Mama Lycha Foods in a sell-side private equity M&A and investment transaction with Rotunda Capital.

To qualify, deals must close during 2025, with the company being transacted or the strategic buyer being based in the Greater Houston area. Nominations were evaluated based on transaction value range, industry focus and type of transaction, as well as anecdotal commentary on what makes the deal unique.
