May 21, 2020

Haynes and Boone, LLP Partners Ricardo Garcia-Moreno and Larry Pascal have been featured in Latinvex’s 2020 Top 100 list of lawyers handling legal business in Latin America. Garcia-Moreno was recognized for his experience in the Corporate/M&A and Energy practice areas and Pascal was selected in Aviation, Corporate/M&A, Energy and Real Estate.

The editorial and research staffs of Latinvex, the Miami-based publisher of news and analysis on Latin America business, chose lawyers based on a combination of factors, including their recent track records on major deals, the prominence of their firms in Latin America, and rankings by third parties such as Chambers and Partners, Legal 500 and Thomson Reuters.

Garcia-Moreno serves as the Administrative Partner of the firm’s Houston office. He practices corporate law with an emphasis on cross-border mergers and acquisitions, energy, securities law compliance and corporate governance. He has more than 24 years of experience representing U.S., European and Latin American clients in domestic and international transactions involving multi-jurisdictional mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; investments; joint ventures; capital markets transactions, including public, Rule 144A and private placements of equity and debt securities; and acting as outside general counsel to public and private companies.

Pascal serves as the chair of the Americas Practice Group and co-chair of the International Practice Group for the firm, and has more than 25 years of experience in advising companies on their cross-border Latin American and Spanish projects, advising clients on transactions, work-outs, and disputes throughout Latin American and the Caribbean (as well as other parts of the world), and has traveled extensively throughout the region. He historically has been very active in a variety of markets, including but not limited to Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Costa Rica. He has also worked extensively on numerous multiple jurisdiction projects, particularly in the Americas and Europe.

Haynes and Boone has been helping clients successfully close transactions, clear regulatory hurdles, and manage disputes involving cross-border trade for more than 25 years in Mexico. The firm has one of the largest Latin American/Caribbean practices among the AmLaw 100 law firms, with approximately 60 lawyers serving clients from the Dallas, Houston, Mexico City, New York, London, Washington, D.C., and Austin offices. Many of the firm’s lawyers are native speakers or fluent in both English and Spanish and are comfortable working with civil law and international law concepts. The firm is experienced in virtually all Latin American and Caribbean markets. Haynes and Boone lawyers have helped clients navigate and complete some of the most ambitious and challenging projects involving transportation, real estate, infrastructure and energy.

Haynes and Boone, SC, the firm’s fully-integrated Mexico City office, was formed in 1994, with lawyers advising on Mexican Law. The fully bilingual and bi-cultural Mexico City office has legal professionals licensed in both Mexico and the U.S. and trained in both legal systems.
