Haynes and Boone, LLP Associate Garrett Martin has been selected to participate in the Institute for Energy Law’s (IEL’s) 2020-2021 Leadership Class. Designed for energy professionals, the IEL Leadership Class comprises 42 individuals who are diverse in job type, experience, industry representation, gender, race and ethnicity.
After applying, Garrett was selected by a committee to participate in the third-annual program. Starting in August, the IEL Leadership Class will have regular virtual meetings to network and discuss programs and attend conferences hosted by IEL.
Several Haynes and Boone lawyers are also involved with IEL. Partner David Ammons is an officer of the Litigation and Dispute Practice Committee and a member of the Advisory Board and Partner Michelle Scheffler serves as an Executive Committee member and chair of the Networking Committee.
Founded in 1959, the Institute for Energy Law is one of the divisions of The Center for American and International Law. The IEL is a membership organization and counts many of the leading energy companies and attorneys among its international membership. It presents several educational conferences and seminars each year, publishes papers and periodicals, and provides an important forum for discussing contemporary issues affecting the energy industries.
Garrett is an associate in the Litigation Practice Group in Haynes and Boone’s Houston office. His practice focuses on representing energy industry clients in all stages of dispute resolution, including litigation, arbitration, and appellate review. Garrett’s representation extends beyond assisting in core oil-and-gas disputes, but also includes advocating in environmental and financial disputes within the energy industry.
In addition to his energy litigation practice, Garrett has represented clients in a variety of other complex commercial and tort disputes, including, fiduciary litigation, breach-of-contract disputes, financial litigation, and Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act claims, wrongful death claims.
