Haynes Boone Advises Contabo on U.S. Data Center Expansion

August 11, 2026

Haynes Boone guided Contabo U.S. Central Data Center LLC through the acquisition of the colocation business of Datotel LLC, based in St. Louis. The acquisition marks an expansion of Contabo’s infrastructure footprint in the United States data center market.

Contabo is a U.S. affiliate of parent company Contabo GmbH, a global cloud hosting provider known for offering budget-friendly virtual private servers, dedicated servers and object storage from data centers globally.

The newly acquired facility in St. Louis has 2 megawatts of power capacity, with room for expansion to support high-density workloads. The facility will also benefit from infrastructure upgrades designed to enhance long-term operational resilience and a dedicated Contabo team providing 24/7 on-site operations.

The St. Louis facility becomes Contabo’s second anchor data center location outside central Europe, joining its facility in Lauterbourg, France. The expansion strengthens Contabo’s ability to provide reliable, high-performance infrastructure to customers around the world.

The Haynes Boone M&A team was led by Partner Larry Pascal with assistance from Associates Thomas Matteson and Rachael Briner. The team was supported by a wider multidisciplinary team of attorneys, including Tax Partner Danielle Marr and Data Centers Partner Stephen Friedberg.

“Contabo’s acquisition in St. Louis marks an important step in the company’s expansion into the U.S. market and strengthens its ability to meet the growing demand for infrastructure,” said Pascal. “We were pleased to advise Contabo on this transaction and support its continued growth as it expands its capabilities.”
